Blackwood Miners’ Institute is one of the most vibrant arts venues in Wales. We create and present high quality, accessible arts and cultural experiences for people across Caerphilly County Borough and South Wales. We offer a varied programme of music, theatre, dance, entertainment and family-friendly shows. We also deliver performances and participatory activities across the borough to connect with audiences where they live.
Our long-term artist development programme has supported the creation of more than 20 productions that have toured across the UK and have cemented the valleys as a place where outstanding live performance gets made.
We are a registered charity, generously supported by Caerphilly County Borough Council, and we aim to increase access to culture for those who face barriers to participating in the arts. Blackwood Miners’ plays a vital role in the local community contributing to the regeneration of Blackwood and Caerphilly County.
We strongly believe in the power of arts and culture to enrich lives and improve peoples’ mental health and wellbeing. All our work is designed with our audiences in mind.
Our work would not be possible without our funders and people like you. There are many ways you can support from becoming a regular donor to rounding up the cost of your ticket.
If you’re able to please donate. Any amount is gratefully received and will be used to support our programme, outreach and engagement work.
